Volunteer at Afghan Women's Organization
Volunteers make an incredible difference in our ability to provide effective services to the community and our clients. We are most grateful to each individual and group who devotes their time and talents to ameliorate services in the Afghan Women’s Organization
Each year we rely on more than 150 volunteers to be a part of our team to assist with ISAP, youth, senior, child minding programs and a wide variety of seasonal and special events activities. Some of the job duties that our volunteers participate in may include escorting clients to places such as Doctor appointments, Ontario Works, Lawyer meetings, Immigration centers, schools, housing and other service providers. Most of our volunteers are young adults with Canadian experience, which presents an excellent opportunity for our new comer clients to meet friends, learn new skills and attain knowledge about the Canadian Mosaic, which we are all a part of.
For interested volunteers, we set up an interview day in order to discuss and identify their skills, areas of interest and their ability to handle different tasks. Once selected, we provide Orientation about our service and mandate. We ensure that all of our volunteers gain work experience in the field of settlement, youth and senior divisions and any other related areas.

Qualification:
- Strong communication skills
- outgoing and energetic personality
- Good command of English plus one of the following languages (Dari/Pashtu, Urdu, and Arabic)
